This book would not be possible if the New Utopia did not exist. However, in its existence it is both reality and possibility: the New Utopia is a path to human progress and a result of that progress as it accumula-tes. It is not, however, a destination, as there is no finality to the New Utopia — just an infinite snowball.
Much like the Socratic Republic, the New Utopia exists within each of us as individuals and within our society, because the ideals of the society are only as strong as the convictions within those who uphold them and — most importantly — practice them. Therefore, these meditations were written with an aim toward the contemplation of the New Utopian ideals in conscious practice. They are tools for you to use insomuch as you choose to use them as tools.
